Living Book Treasure Hunts
Updated: Aug 9
Building our Roots Farm School library has been a lot of fun. Charlotte Mason taught that living books were a feast of knowledge, ideas, and experiences from the greatest thinkers and fictional characters that our children eagerly consume. In the cyber world we find ourselves in today, the amount of time we spend plugged into technology abounds. The moment could not be more necessary to return to the nostalgia of giving books the reverence they deserve. I have spent hours on Etsy, eBay, and local thrift stores looking for these treasured gifts. Many are out of print and must be rescued and shared with children of today. I encourage everyone to hunt and find living books and share them with children. Ignite their love of reading.
