Back to Our Roots BBQ

Our first annual, “Back to Our Roots” BBQ was a huge success. Our amazing team put together an evening that took all us back to a simpler time. The evening delivered a clear, starry sky with the moon showing half her face, complete with dragonflies darting to and fro to the beats of the band. The warm glow from the barn invited you in for a delectable display of sweets, valuable auction items, and the opportunity to make your own butter. Charlotte Mason curriculum and Roots planning phases and calendars were on exhibit. The best part was the evening made a warm memory for the children who attended. They were dancing, eating butter and sweets, petting ponies, holding baby chicks and ducks, and feeding goats. As one woman said, “This evening brings us back to being.” (Photography by Lauren Baxter)
