Our first annual BBQ was a huge success. Everyone came together to contribute to a memorable evening filled with music, beauty, and fun. We were honored to have friends, family, and members of our community come out in support of our school. Part of the money raised at the event will go towards our annual membership to California Charter Schools Association. We are excited about the future of Roots and how it will bless the hearts and minds of not only the children it will serve but Shasta County as a whole.
One guest at our event commented that the evening was beautiful and brought us back to being. Her statement of "being" headlined the night. We were all fully present. Joy was alive in the children dancing, laughing, holding animals, making butter, and eating delectable sweets while adults smiled and connected and reconnected with new and old friends. In today's fast-paced world, it was nice to go back to our roots.
We look forward to many more evenings like September 7th.
